Obituary for Charles Rally MD
Dr. Charles Rally, born September 1, 1928, died peacefully on November 16, 2017 of complications following surgery, surrounded by his family. He is survived by Rose his beloved wife of 64 years, his children Anne (Norm), Charlie (Dana), Elisabeth, and David (Sandra), and by fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Charlie graduated from McGill medical school in 1952, and after returning to Vancouver as the chief resident in Medicine, spent his active practice life at Vancouver General Hospital. After he retired he continued to act as a medical expert in legal and insurance matters until the age of 87. He loved the practice of medicine his entire life, a joy second only to his love for his wife and family.
This extraordinary man will be remembered by his family, his friends and his colleagues for his unmatched gentleness, kindness, and modesty, and because he was, in fact, always right. We are so grateful to have had him in our lives.
A gathering will be held Saturday, November 25, at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Donations to the Doctor David Bachop Memorial Fund would be most appreciated.
